Jets flying high, or will the Patriots take the number 1 spot?
Everyone is wondering if the Jets are the real deal this year after many great off season moves and trades that put the Jets in the list for Super Bowl contenders this year. The Brady Bunch is also in the run for a Super Bowl now that Brady and Welker are finally healthy, and their young defense is starting to mature. Can Rex Ryan's new powerful gang take the experienced Patriots number 1 spot?
You have to give the Jets alot of credit. They made it to the AFC Finals last year and have an even more staggering crew this year. Can you believe all the acquisitions they have made during the summer. Starting with their offense they gave Mark Sanchez so many weapons he can play with. Adding LaDanian Tomlinson to their backfield, and previous Superbowl MVP Santonio Holmes to their already great receiving core the Jets now have an amazing amount of weapons that can be utilized; and the Jets strength isn't even their offense, its their defense who was the number one defense in the league last year. This defense is insane, packed with amazing players and even better defensive schemes. The Jets now have Antonio Cromartie to add to their secondary who has had 15 interceptions in the last 3 years. and can apply the same style of man and zone blitz packages that they had last year because of all the good players this defense carries. Adding Jason Taylor also to their line-up there is no doubt this team will be great, but will it be first in their division?
The Jets will win atleast 10 games next season, but their team chemistry and leadership in the QB position tells me that they will not be able to beat the Patriots veteran offense. Belichick's team is will to be number one in the AFC East this year because Brady is healthy, and he is back with even more weapons than in 2007 when they went undefeated. Are you kidding me, more weapons? Welker the leader in catches is now healthy, Moss is getting older but he still has a lot of fuel in him, and they just picked up Alge Crumpler, and Torry Holt who were both pro bowl caliber players in their younger years. This gives the Patriots one of the strongest passing attacks in the NFL. Although their defense is not very strong, and is very young they have some good players that are developing into great defensive pieces for their defense; like linebacker Brandon Meriweather, and Jerod Mayo who both showed great skills at their linebacker position. Pats also drafted corner back Devin McCourty in the first round to help their secondary start to further develop. Althought their defense is not of A, or even B caliber the patriots offense is that good that they will win the AFC East this year.

Flash's Trio?

Coming into the new Miami training camp with three all-stars, and an incredible amount of hype can Dwyane Wade and his staggering new crew get not one, but many championships? Will current leader Dwyane Wade remain the leader of this new Miami Heat?

The Heat are not the only ones who have made big moves during this off season, making the East now a more dangerous contender with teams like Chicago who just signed free agent Carlos Boozer and will be playing along side Derrick Rose, and the Celtics who have signed the Heats previous center Jermaine O'Neal to strengthen what is already a championship caliber team. With this said the Heat are not concerned with the strength of other teams right now, but with the chemistry of their own, and how they will approach this new season. The question arises, who will lead this team?
Will it be Bosh who showed his leadership in Toronto averaging 24.0 points, and 10.8 rebounds a game and has 5 all-star appearances; will it be the 2 time MVP Lebron James who at his young age developed a whole franchise and carried it to 2, 60+ win seasons in a row while averaging stats that can only be compared to names like Oscar Robertson, and Magic Johnson; or Dwyane Wade who averaged 26.6 points and 6.5 assists a game, and already delivered a championship for the Heat back in 2006.
Chris Bosh coming out of the Raptors will play a huge role in rebounding the ball and making his presence felt in the paint. Bosh can be a big difference maker when it comes to playing teams like the Orlando magic or Los Angeles Lakers because both of these teams have two of the top centers in the league, and Bosh has the ability to match up to big names like Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard; but as far as leading the team Bosh will not make the difference that Lebron James will make. Lebron is going to play a huge role in this team coming into it as the MVP of the league. Expect him to do work in his new Miami team. James has been a leader for all of his basketball career, carrying his high school team to multiple championships, and his NBA team the Cleavland Caveliers to 2, 60+ seasons, but he has not held the NBA title yet, and this is why he came to D-Wade for help. Dwyane Wade will remain the leader of this team, he is now 28 and has already won an NBA title. He understands the path that is needed to get to the championship again. Wade led the Miami Heat winning the championship back in 06 and won the finals MVP because of his outstanding poise and his ability to make plays under tremendous amounts of pressure. Although Lebron might get more points, or Bosh will get more rebounds, expect Dwyane Wade to be the difference when it comes to this teams success.
